BennettBennett notices what Saunders is watching.
Ugh… what the hell happened?
Saunders
You got knocked out.
Bennett
Oh… I’ve got a splitting headache. I can’t remember the last time I had a headache.
Bennett
Is that Isaac?
Saunders
Yeah, we got him.
Bennett
Then why isn’t he here?
Saunders
He was here. We had to transfer him to make the public happy. The Protesters will be thrilled, though.
Bennett
That’s not a good idea. We should get him back for interrogation.
Saunders
Relax. He’s given up voluntarily. I’m not sure what he wants but he’s exactly where he wants to be right now.
Bennett
How is that supposed to make me feel better?
Saunders
Well how about some good news, then? We’re making progress on the new Pods.
Ryan’s uncle Dylan brings Ryan, Cody, and Samantha home from the park. Susan is sitting at the kitchen table with the Wilson family and Joe Tyler. Ryan is in shock.
CharlotteAll the kids go into the living room.
Hi, Ryan.
Ryan
How… how is this possible?
Joe
I’ll explain everything to you later, Ryan. I think right now you kids have some catching up to do. Go have fun.
RyanMason walks by Ryan and sits on the couch, not looking too thrilled.
I don’t understand.
CodyMason gives a stare of hatred towards Ryan.
Are these the friends you were talking about?
Ryan
Yeah. This is Charlotte and that’s her brother, Mason.
Cody
Hey, Mason. I heard you might be a fan of MMA.
Mason
Yeah, I watch it with my friends.
Cody
Oh, so you and Ryan have watched fights together? He told me he’s never seen a fight before.
Mason
No. I’ve never watched a fight with Ryan.
RyanThe two walk to the other side of the room.
Um… hey, Charlotte, can I talk to you alone for a second?
SamanthaRyan talks with a low voice to Charlotte.
Wait, we’re not going to watch another stupid fight, are we? My show is about to start any minute.
RyanRyan turns and sees his grandpa coming out of the kitchen.
What’s with Mason?
Charlotte
He’s sort of mad at you.
Ryan
Why?
Charlotte
He thinks it’s your fault that our dad died.
Ryan
But your dad is sitting in the kitchen right now.
Charlotte
I mean when he was killed by someone who was looking for you and your mom.
Ryan
So your dad was brought back in a Pod?
Charlotte
Yeah. My parents wouldn’t tell me why but this man came in with paperwork and said he was free to go. We just had to be placed in witness protection.
Ryan
What’s that?
Charlotte
It’s when something bad happens to someone and they think they’re in danger, the Government will move you to a new place and give you a new name so the person looking for you can’t find you.
Ryan
So kind of like what my mom and I were doing except we didn’t get help from the government.
Charlotte
I guess. I just want you to know, I don’t think it’s your fault my dad died.
Ryan
I still feel guilty, though.
Charlotte
Well, don’t. You’re not the one who shot him.
Ryan
I still don’t understand why your dad was allowed to go free. If people were allowed to go free then why were me and my mom running and why did they kill my dad?
Joe
Ryan.
Joe
I think it’s time we had a talk.
Gabriel, Felicia, Lisa, Sean, Sandra, Monica, and Chuck, the man who helped Gabriel escape from the secret Section 6 headquarters, are all at the farm. They are gathered around a kitchen counter which also doubles as a touch screen computer.
FeliciaGabriel clears his throat.
So here’s the situation. We’ve been putting together a plan for Lisa’s idea.
Lisa
I can’t believe you live in a farm and yet you have a computer in your kitchen counter.
Sean
I know, I wanted to get an Xbox.
Sandra
We own an online business, too.
Lisa
Doing what?
GabrielChuck snickers, to which Gabriel gives him a mean stare.
Can we get back to this plan that was your idea?
Lisa
Sorry. Go ahead.
Felicia
Isaac is being transferred to a prison. From what we can tell, he would have no problem escaping if he wanted to so breaking him out isn’t going to be the hard part. He’s likely staying there for a reason so we may have to convince him to leave.
Sean
Really? This plan already sounds ridiculous.
Gabriel
Nobody is forcing you to help.
Felicia
On top of that, I suspect he’s in this prison against the wishes of the FBI, which means they’re probably keeping a close eye on him. If we even step foot anywhere close to the perimeter we’ll probably have an entire FBI team taking us down. This is by definition an impossible mission.
Lisa
I thought you said you had a plan.
Felicia
Like I said, the hardest part is going to be convincing him that he should escape. If we can infiltrate the prison and send him a message the rest will be easy. We need to get in under a guise as military officials. My old partner, Larken, has been sending people in and out to try and talk to Isaac so they likely won’t be questioning the visit. We tell him what the plan is and give him a rendezvous point to meet us there. In case he needs help, we will provide it.
Lisa
What if he refuses?
Gabriel
Then we’re screwed.
Lisa
So what are you guys gonna tell him to convince him to come with us?
Felicia
We’re not. You’re going to be the one convincing him.
Lisa
What? Are you crazy?
Gabriel
You’re the only one who really trusts him, and he seems to only really trust you. Personally, I don’t think this plan is particularly safe and that’s only because Isaac is involved. If we were breaking out anybody else I would have no problem going through with this.
Felicia
Which reminds me, the next phase is to break Adam out. Unfortunately we don’t have as much intel on that situation so we’ll have to deal with that when the time comes.
Lisa
But you were able to break Gabriel out.
Gabriel
Please, I could have escaped on my own.
Lisa
The environment Adam is in is a different situation. He’s constantly working with a room full of people that’s heavily guarded. Luckily Monica has agreed to help us.
Monica
I’m supposed to be getting in contact with Carlie soon. Hopefully we’ll be able to devise a plan after we talk.
Felicia
Finally, we need to contact Lionel Sabatelli. He needs to know what’s going on before we do any of this and is a crucial part of this plan. We need to get Isaac to agree to go to LifeSource and we need to make sure Lionel is ready to work with Isaac.
Lisa
We’re probably going have to lie to Isaac. If we tell him we’re looking for a way to reverse the after-effects he won’t be too happy.
Gabriel
I just want to make sure you’re ready to go through with this, Lisa. If this is too much and you want to back down we would completely understand.
Lisa
Let’s bring my husband home.
To be continued...
