Contest Details!

*potential spoilers if you have not read up to Chapter 5!*

We are looking to fill our DeviantArt page with more artwork and at the same time, seeing our vision of turning ReGeneration into a graphic novel. So we decided to hold a contest for you to help us out! We have decided on four (4) moments in this volume for you to choose to interpret in your own way.

1. The introduction to Chapter 1
   (involving Jason Saunders and Cole Bennett chasing down an assassin) 
2. The end of Chapter 1 Part 1
   (Adam and Lisa Fields get into a car crash) 
3. Chapter 1 Part 3
   (Where Gabriel fights two police officers)
4. The chase in Chapter 4 Part 1
   (Where Cole Bennett is chasing Gabriel)

You can choose any of those selections. We're looking for your interpretations of those moments done in a graphic novel format. You can use whatever art style you're comfortable with. It does not need to include colour and you are not required to include dialogue or thought bubbles. If it's just the art you want to do, you can submit it that way and we will not judge based on inclusion of dialogue or text. If you just wish to sketch those moments that is also fine. Whatever style you are comfortable with. There is no limitation. The number of panels you wish to use is up to you. There is no minimum or maximum amount of pages required.

To enter, you can submit your artwork to our DeviantArt page. Be sure to mention that your deviation is part of the #ReGenerationTheBlog art contest either in the title or description. If you do not have a DeviantArt account, you can also submit your art to our Facebook page. Be sure to mention the art contest in your photo description on Facebook as well. If you are submitting to Facebook, please mention if you would like to give us permission to submit your work to DeviantArt on your behalf, or vice versa (This does not affect the judging of the contest).

On August 24th, 2012, during our 9th podcast, we will look at all submissions and decide on a winner. Be sure to get your submissions in before that date as we tend to record podcasts early!

The prize for the winner will be any item from our store of your choice with a value of or below $30 CAD, not including shipping + taxes (we will be paying for the prize ourselves!). This also includes any future merchandise we may add to the store before the contest ends. We will contact the winner through Facebook or DeviantArt for information on where to ship the prize. Because shipping costs are higher internationally, this contest is for those with a shipping address to United States and Canada. There will be no refunds or exchanges on products. *UPDATE*

It has been agreed upon by the creators of ReGeneration that we will accept ANY artwork in any form for our contest, and it doesn't have to be about the situations above. If you want to do something for a character, a gadget, or a location from the story you are free to do so and we will accept it into our contest. HOWEVER, we will be will be judging with a focus towards those who are following the rules mentioned above, who will have a greater chance at winning based on what we are looking for. If you are worried that we won't even look at your submissions if you're not following the guideline, we will be looking at all artwork evenly if no submissions are following the graphic novel format that we are looking for. If, say, only one submission is made to the contest and does not follow any of our guidelines towards judging, you will automatically win a prize from our store. If you're worried you will not have your artwork complete by the end of the contest, we encourage you to send in the current work in progress to us before the deadline so that we can still look at it. If you wish to complete the piece later on, or if you would rather work on something separate for the website that is not for the contest, we will accept ALL artwork on our DeviantArt and Facebook page at any time! Keep in mind, the prize mentioned above is only for the winner of this particular contest at this time. That being said, we encourage every artist and reader of this story to have fun and submit any and all artwork to our DeviantArt group. We'd love to see what your interpretations of our characters and story look like and we will continue to pursue an art-centered part of this story to be incorporated with the website. So please participate and show us your talent! You can't win if you don't enter and all you have to do is upload an image to us. Sounds like the best way to get a free shirt or other item to me.
